To the refrain of "Ice, Ice Baby" the dark grey stallion danced and mesmerized the crowd watching Liberty at The Egyptian Event. The picture of an Arabian, with his cocky attitude, bouncy trot and clear rapor with the crowd as well as his handlers - even the photographer - Ice was the clear favorite to win. However, when time was called he was not done. Unfortunately, the judges penalized him for overtime and pinned him 3rd. The stands erupted in a chorus of loud boos and hisses! With people chanting "Ice, Ice Baby"!
Vanylla Ice came to us as a yearling to be sold in a herd dispersal. This charismatic, and fancy son of the legendary The Egyptian Prince was nice enough that Kehilan entered into a partnership on the colt. Shown once to a Reserve Grand Champion at Halter and then once more in the Liberty Class at the Event, Ice has not really been seen by many folks. Through the years there have been registration problems and partnership problems keeping Ice from breeding. Finally, now that is resolved and Kehilan owns Ice outright.
His dam, was one of Ruminaja Ali's best daughters! An extraordinarily beautiful mare, MA Pistol was sold in the dispersal to Germany. She went on to become many times Champion overseas. Pistol is also a full sister to the European Champion and well known sire MA Alishah. Ice is a 3/4 sibling to the exotically beautiful Princess Shamira who in turn produced the gorgeous show ring winner Minstrils Gabriella owned by Steve and Mauri Chase.
The dam side of Ice's pedigree is unique and traces on female side to the successful mating of Antar and Abla. A cross which was done several times with great success. We look forward to having Ice start his breeding career, albeit a little late. He is currently expecting two foals in 2006 out of two lovely Makhsous daughters here at Kehilan.
