Exotic, desert bred, and classic type were exuded in this fiery stallion. One of the famous full siblings produced by the exquisite grandmatron Bint Magidaa, Bahjat is perhaps best known for his beautiful daughters. Not many offspring remain in the U.S. and Kehilan is fortunate to have several Bahjat daughters. The majority of his breeding career was spent at Lee Romney's Somerset Farms, where Janice Bush first met Bahjat as manager of Somerset. Bahjat stood at stud along side *Sultann and Lee had hoped one day to blend the two bloodlines together. In fact, at one point she had wanted to purchase Makhsous to breed on to her Bahjat daughters but at that time he was not for sale. With the arrival of Janice Bush to Kehilan, the blending of Bahjat and Makhsous began. Perhaps it is most apparent in Bahjat's grandson - the ethereal Marquis I. Janice states that Marquis is exactly the type of stallion Lee would have hoped to produce - kind, proud, fancy and very exotic in type. We thank Lee from the bottom of our hearts for her contribution to the Straight Egyptian breed and to Kehilan's breeding program in particular! Upon Lee's untimely death, Bahjat was exported to Uraguay to stand at Count Federico Zichy-Thyssen's farm. There he joined a world famous breeding program until his death. Bahjat was known for producing extreme type, big eyes and beautiful faces and a tremendous amount of charisma. His daughters all have a spirited outlook on life that they pass on to their foals. Bahjat's famous full brothers are of course; Ruminaja Ali, Ruminaja Majed, Ruminaja Fayez, Ruminaja Rabia and Alidaar.
