Matisse KA (x DB Shahlaha)
1996 Grey Straight Egyptian mare Dahman Shahwan Strain
A coveted "Shalla" daughter, Mattie graces the pasture with her dark and knowing eyes and "Queen in Training" attitude. A big bodied mare with a powerful trot and compact body - Mattie also exudes Dahman type with her short head, large jowl and big dark eye. Her dam is one of our foundation mares and a producer of stallions worldwide. We have retained all daughters of her dam at this point. Matisse is the oldest and the first to have children. Her first child is a precious pixie named Monet who now lives in Israel. With the same big dark eyes we affectionately nicknamed her "Bugsy". Her two year old filly, Quintessa has the same beautiful expression and knowing Cleopatraa eyes and has recently been purchased by MiJan Farms. Her latest foal is a super colt by Makhnificent KA - a full sibling to Monet KA. He will undoubtedly make someone a special show horse and sire - passing on those big black eyes and that powerful movement. *Matisse is tail female to *Soheir II - one of our favorite mares we had the privilege of viewing at Bentwood Farms. Matisse is due 3/05 to Makhnificent KA. Tail female to *Soheir II and heavily *Morafic bred with the addition of The Egyptian Prince through her sire Raquin RA.

KA
Bint Mabrouka (x AK Mabrouka)
1990 Grey Straight Egyptian mare
Saqlawi Strain
We welcome "Binte" back to her home and are excited about her newest foal - a spectacular colt by Makhnificent KA born June 2005! With 3 of the 4 greatgrandsires *Morafic and the 4th is the *Morafic son *Ibn Moniet El Nefous - Binte is intensely linebred. She is tall, regal mare with a beautiful expression and huge powerful trot with fabulous hock action. A show ring winner as a young mare herself she has produced the gorgeous Thee Desperado son DD Ramid for previous owner Pat Dunn. Ramid was Champion of his Class at the Egyptian Event and also not only Top Ten but second place in the Stallion class at Scottsdale! She passes on many of the characteristics that we have come to value the Rocky daughters for......... big dark eyes, long legs, very high set, long clean necks and a proud bearing.

Simply Seductive (x Antigua Dance) 1996 Chestnut Straight Egyptian Mare Hadban Enzahi Strain
Her name
conjures images of a sultry Queen.
And "Sophie" does
not disappoint. A breathtaking beauty and epitome of feminine
Arabian type she holds court
with her visitors. Tall and elegant,
with an exotic face and an ethereal
quality about her that speaks
to everyone who has seen her.
But Sophie is more than just
a pretty face, she is also a
true testament to the courage found in Egyptian
Arabians and their bond for their
humans. Her tale started wonderfully
enough, winning every time she
set foot (or hoof) in the arena. First at the Egyptian
Event for her first outing and
named Champion World Class Fillies.
Then on to a Regional Competition
at the tender age of 2 where
she won the qualifying Championship
and was named Regional Reserve
Champion Mare. Then a break from showing and she caught the eye
of Christie Metz of Silver Maple
Farm. Sophie represents 30 years
of breeding by Janice Bush and
four generations of female lines
(though she even managed and
cared for the fifth generation
in
her pedigree as well) so Janice
was reluctant to sell her. Thus
a partnership was formed and
Sophie continued her show career,
now more mature by winning Regional
Champion Mare - besting the Reserve
National Champion Mare Fortunate
Gold. Heading for Nationals Sophie
suffered a severe setback en route from Florida to the
show in Albuquerque which ultimately
led to a protracted course of
laminitis. Her run at a National title will not occur as today
she has free roam of Kehilan,
and
despite severe physical impairment
she continues to be cheerful,
loving people, patiently enduring
treatments and reigning over
all who come to court her. She
is of course, a maternal sister
to our stallion Marquis I and
her dam the gorgeous Antigua
Dance
has been a superior producer
of show ring winners.

KA Sultan Raqwa
1991 Bay Straight Egyptian
Kuhaylan Rodan Ajuz Strain
Raqwa was born at 307 days gestation. A beautiful bay with bright eyes but weak and contracted front legs she fought to live and showed her courage early. One hot summer day when she was about a week old she began to show signs of heat prostration. The memory is etched in time of a little bay filly lying quietly on the office sofa in the A/C while Mom looked on through the open window to the foaling stall! Unable to enjoy a show career due to the scars left from her birth - she took her broodmare career seriously. She became one of the most prolific producers at Kehilan. Her oldest daughter Rahimah is one of our most treasured broodmares while her youngest Makhsous daughter is expecting her first foal for us! Her son KA First Knight+ is a multiple Regional and National winning Dressage and Sport Horse gelding and her daughter Makhnifique KA is a multi winning halter mare! Her daughter Marqed In Red KA represents Kehilan in Venezuela. It was a hard decision to part with Raqwa but we know that she will bring many years of joy and quality foals to Carol and Reilly Maginn of Bear Creek Ranch in Austin, TX. Carol purchased Makhnifique KA as her first Egyptian mare! Though not owned by us any longer we felt Raqwa should be included on our website as a Kehilan bred mare whose children and grandchildren can still be found gracing our pastures and in the show ring! Raqwa is currently in foal to Makhnificent KA for 2006.
